The Zurich Opera House, located on Falkenstrasse, is worth to be seen not only on the outside and imprinted on a "soapbox", but also to attend one of the performances. Although, it must be admitted, the building itself looks like a real work of art. The Zurich Opera House was built at the beginning of the 20th century and since then faithfully served the people of Switzerland. However, in the 70s, when the theater needed major repairs, the building was almost demolished, but the townspeople who were indifferent to the theatrical art were able to defend it.

By the way, the Zurich Opera House is famous for its unusual performances of traditional classical works. Therefore, it's worth visiting here: for both theatergoers and those who prefer "blockbusters" to performances. Note that the new productions (both opera and ballet) are shown almost every month in the theater, therefore it will be possible to get acquainted with Zurich with a hike in one of the evenings for a premiere performance.

On Saturdays for tourists there are guided tours (including in Russian), dedicated to the history and traditions of the Zurich Theater. In addition, visitors are shown the holy of holies - a workshop for the manufacture of costumes, masks and the manufacture of theater requisites. Tours paid - 10 francs per person.

The cost of tickets to the Zurich Opera House, as it is customary, depends on the places chosen in the auditorium. So, you can listen to the premiere opera "Faust" by paying for the entrance from 38 to 270 francs.

You can get to the Zurich Opera House by using trams No. 2 and 4 (Opernhaus stop), as well as by trams No. 11 and 15, which go to the nearest stop to the theater - Stadelhofen.
