Shukhov Tower on the Oka, Nizhny Novgorod Region

Shukhov Tower on the Oka consists of five sections in the form of one-sheeted hyperboloid rotation and does not have curved parts. The sections are made up of straight profiles with straight beams, which form a special lattice, reinforced with steel round holders. Wind load, dangerous for high-altitude structures, in this case is minimal, which gives the structure strength. In addition, the design also has a curious "optical effect": standing very close to the tower and looking upwards it seems that it is bending.

Today the tower is designed by V. G. Shukhov in Switzerland, Japan, Czech Republic, Spain and other countries - the invention of the Russian design engineer was very much in demand.

Near this impressive tower there are always crowds of people, despite the remoteness of its location. Numerous tourists with pleasure visit it, making bundles of photos for memory.

Now there is a reconstruction and ennobling of the territory adjacent to the tower, as the place here is simply wonderful for rest, sitting on the beach and swimming: a picturesque pine massif along the river bank, the beach with the sand, the sun ...

In general, if you have a little time during your trip in the Nizhny Novgorod region - look into this corner. You will not regret!
