How to get to Kineshma
The train from Moscow departs daily from Yaroslavsky station. Travel time is about nine hours in the summer and ten and a half hours in the winter.
By car - along the Gorky Highway through Vladimir, Suzdal, Ivanovo and Vichugu.
From Kineshma Bus Station (33 Ostrovskogo St.) go to Ivanovo , Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Shuya, Vichugi, Yuryevets and other cities.
Transport
The main type of public transport is buses. The average cost of a trip around the city by taxi is 80 rubles (as of August 2011).

Souvenirs
You can buy souvenirs with urban symbols, as well as paintings by local artists in the Art Gallery or in the House of Crafts (st. Makarova, 15). Kineshma felt boots once competed with Kostroma and Yaroslavl for the title of the best in the country. The craft is gradually being revived, and now the valenki are made both by the factory method (in Kislyachiha village) and manually - there is a famous Sokolov family in Kineshma, who creates these original shoes using old technologies.

Events
During the celebrations dedicated to the Day of the City (last Saturday of June), theatrical performances and parades are held, at the revived Tikhvin Fair they sell colorful flax and chintz, unusual toys and crafts. The day ends with a concert and fireworks.
