Nekrasov Museum-Apartment, which is a part of the All-Russian Pushkin Museum's collection, is located on Liteiny Street, 36. This house has repeatedly changed owners for many years, but most of all it became famous with by the name of one of the most famous Russian poets - Nekrasov
In this house the poet lived from 1857 until his death in 1877. All these twenty years in the poet's apartment there was an editorial office of two progressive and very popular at that time magazines: "Contemporary" and "Otechestvennye zapiski". At one time there met Turgenev, Tolstoy, Ostrovsky, Dostoevsky, Saltykov-Shchedrin, Goncharov. The exposition of the museum tells not only about Nekrasov's life and creativity, but also about the fate of Russian writers in the post-Pushkin era.
