Numerous anecdotes about Petka and Vasily Ivanovich gradually obscured the historical truth about Chapaev's figure from us. You can restore historical justice by visiting the Chapayev House Museum in the city of Balakovo, Saratov Region. Of course, in Russia this is not the only such museum, because in the Soviet years every city dreamed of having a hut to which the hero of the civil war had something to do with. So, another Chapaev house-museum is in the city of Pugachevo

The museum itself is the house where Vasily Ivanovich Chapayev lived with his family. Almost all the exhibits presented here are unique. Many objects of everyday life were used by Chapayev himself, some of them were made by the hands of his father and brothers.

The future hero of anecdotes and the Civil War was born and spent childhood and youth in this house, or rather, the hut on the Orphanage. In the museum you can get acquainted with the everyday life of families of the late 19th and 20th centuries, personal belongings of the Chapaevs. Visiting this place can be timed to one of the memorable dates: September 5 - the day of memory of VI Chapaev, February 9 - the day of his birth. By the way, some of the exhibits bequeathed to the museum Maria Popova (the prototype of Anka Pulemetchitsy)

You can get to the Chapaev House Museum from Saratov by bus No. 602 and then by buses No. 5, 10, 21 to the street with the "unexpected" name - Chapaeva, house 110. Excursions are held every day, except Monday, from 8.00 to 16.00.
