Between the world wars, up to 50,000 people a year rested here, and the resort was named "The Pearl of the Baltic."
During the Second World War, Kolobrzeg was turned into a huge hospital, and fighting for it at the end of the war turned the city into solid ruins . In 1945, Kolobrzeg was returned to Poland, and a very difficult period of recovery and healing of the city began: by 1950, there were 7,000 inhabitants in the city against pre-war 30,000. Only by the 1960s the population began to grow, large-scale construction and the revival of Kolobrzeg as a resort .

Entertainment, excursions and attractions Kolobzhega
The city itself is good, although it can not boast of old sights . In this regard, a complex of buildings, which here is called the "new old city", is indicative: whole blocks of buildings built in the 20th century are successfully styled for the antiquity and absolutely do not cut the eye with its novelty . In general, the city looks well-groomed and sleek, although there are still buildings in it that require restoration . In the southern part of the city you can see the Gothic style of the Cathedral and the Town Hall building, which houses the gallery of contemporary art . Both the local population and tourists are interested in the annual festivals held in Kolobrzeg: Interfolk, which became very popular literally from 1992, the first year of its existence, "Music Summer", soldier's song, "Kolobrzeg chamber concerts", which take place in October and gather classical music fans in the city . various entertainment establishments: clubs, discotheques, restaurants with a variety of shows .
Kolobrzeg is a rapidly developing port that not only provides the city with a significant part of the budget, but also allows holidaymakers to expand the geography of excursions: a boat trip to the German islands of Ruggia and Boriholm will add to the rest of bright impressions.
